Elastomer Cutting System
As a state-of-the-art approach to thermocutting, our system has been designed especially for the rubber roller industry to provide an advantageous method of machining elastomers in operations such as single-pass grooving, and rapid removal of excess material prior to final grinding. A custom designed tool-post can either be permanently bolted onto the main operating machine such as a lathe, or can serve as a quickly removable attachment to a grinding station(s), etc. Flexible design of the tool holding assembly accommodates tools with a wide array of shapes and sizes, and allows for easy position adjustment for almost any cutting operation.
Our patented* blades are durable and concentrate heat specifically on the very cutting edge, thus ensuring smokeless operation. Roughing Application
A smokeless, quiet, and clean cutting during roughing significantly decreases the amount of dust and smoke present in the manufacturing plant. At the same time the quickness of the operation saves on energy and labor costs increasing productivity.
Grooving Application
The Elastomer Cutting System can be used as an effective grooving tool. Grooves such as spreaders, spiral, horizontal, and plunge can be produced easily on standard lathes equipped with the thermocutter unit. Also, the thermocutter can be mounted on automated groovers to produce grooves such as chevrons or diamonds. Both standard and custom blades are available for grooving a variety of different rubbers and urethanes.
