operations such as single-pass grooving, and rapid removal of excess
material prior to final grinding. A custom designed tool-post can either be
permanently bolted onto the main operating machine such as a lathe, or can
serve as a quickly removable attachment to a grinding station(s), etc.
Flexible design of the tool holding assembly accommodates tools with a wide
array of shapes and sizes, and allows for easy position adjustment for
almost any cutting operation.

The Elastomer
Cutting System can be used as an effective grooving tool.
Grooves such as spreaders, spiral, horizontal, and plunge can be produced
easily on standard lathes equipped with the thermocutter unit. Also, the
thermocutter can be mounted on automated groovers to produce grooves such as
chevrons or diamonds.
Both standard and custom blades are available for grooving a variety of
different rubbers and urethanes.
